The Heath Department of Public Safety is reminding residents to keep their homes and automobiles secure following a burglary incident that occurred November 8.
The owner of a home in Crestridge Meadows encountered a female subject in her house and called 911. The suspect left the home, but the homeowner was able to give the 911 operator a description of the suspect?s vehicle. Responding Heath officers were Sergeant P. Smith and A. Poindexter, who quickly located and detained the suspect at Crestridge and FM 740/Laurence Drive.
Jewelry and electronics missing from the Crestridge Meadows resident?s home were found in the suspect?s car along with narcotics and narcotic equipment.
The Heath DPS officers arrested the suspect, and she was booked into Rockwall County Jail for Burglary of Habitation. She has since been tied to additional burglaries in the City of Lavon.
?This arrest is an important reminder to keep your home and cars secure,? said Detective Sergeant Trammell. ?Criminals are always looking for an easy target. Even if you are home, unlocked doors and open garages can be an invitation to a burglar.?
