Heath Mayor John Ratcliffe issued a proclamation at the August 3 City Council meeting welcoming Lance Corporal Mark McKenna of the United States Marine Corps home from his recent deployments to Iraq, Guam and on the USS Boxer. Heath DPS Chief Terry Garrett presented the Marine with a Survivor Cord Warrior Band and Welcome Home Challenge Coin.
Lance Corporal McKenna is a hometown boy whose family lives in Heath. He graduated from Garland Christian Academy in 2006 and attended Lake Pointe Church before joining the U.S. Marine Corps in 2006.
Mayor Ratcliffe also recognized Lance Corporal McKenna?s parents, Scott and Marsha McKenna, sister, Megan, and grandfather, Tim Farley, for the sacrifices they have made during Lance Corporal McKenna?s military service.
