FM 740 Widening Project Update

Last week at the Rockwall County Transportation Consortium meeting, TxDOT reported to the member city representatives that paving for the FM 740 South widening project would begin in August 2014. The original start date was May 2014 with an anticipated 24-month construction schedule.

This second phase of the FM 740 project spans from FM 740/1140 to the FM 740/FM 1140/Hubbard Drive intersection. Utility relocations are now underway.

The FM 740 North project (Phase 1) spanned from Horizon Road in Rockwall to FM 740/1140 in Heath and was completed in the Fall of 2012.
