Local Boy Scout Troop Spur New City Initiative

Boy Scout Troop 314 is the first official participant in the City of Heath’s new Adopt-A-Park/Trail Volunteer Cleanup program. The troop spurred the initiative in the Fall of 2017 by simply asking, “can we help”. They conducted their first cleanup project on October 21 along the Highlands Trail, where they collected 18 full bags of litter. On February 10, the scouts collected 19 bags of litter along the Chris Cuny Parkway Trail, which they have officially adopted for 2018. What a great example of community service! Thank you, Troop 314.

About The City of Heath Adopt-A-Park/Trail Volunteer Cleanup Program

If you are looking for a way to make a difference in our community, the City of Heath Adopt-A-Park/Trail Volunteer Cleanup Program is an excellent place to start!

The program, approved by City Council in February 2018, offers civic-minded organizations an opportunity to help keep our parks and trails attractive and safe by “adopting” a specific trail segment or park area.

Participating groups are approved for the program by City Council and will be responsible for a general cleanup of the adopted area quarterly. To receive a sign promoting the organization’s cleanup efforts onsite at the adopted area, a commitment of at least 12 months must be made.
