HEDC/HMBC DOG RECREATION AREA Speaker: HEDC/HMBC President Michael Zilinskas Hello, Heath. I'm Mike Zelinskas, president of the Heath Economic Development and Municipal Benefits Corporation, and I'm excited to share some great news for our community. Our board and City Council have approved the use of EDC owned property to create a temporary dog recreation area for our citizens and their four legged family members. Opening in May after these plans were approved. A generous Heath resident anonymously donated $25,000 to fund the initial construction and amenities. Unknown We also want to recognize Heath resident Seth Atwell who donated his services to create a concept plan. We are incredibly grateful for these acts of community generosity, an example of how public private partnerships can benefit Heath. The temporary dog recreation area will be located at 305 Lawrence Drive, a property many of you fondly know as the goat House. This location is part of the 24 acres the Heath EDC purchased in 2025 within our Town Center Overlay district. The goal of this purchase is to protect the land from undesirable development and preserve it for its unique, high quality uses that enhance our community, expand our sales tax base, and support Heath's premier outdoor recreation lifestyle. As our board carefully evaluates long term plans for this property. We are thrilled to make the beautiful space available free of charge for residents, visitors, and their four legged companions to enjoy the new nature trails installed last fall on the reserve along Chris Cuney Parkway will be expanded to increase pedestrian access to this wonderful new amenity. Again, our target opening is in May, so stay tuned for your invitation to come. Enjoy the space with us.
