Transcript: Heath In Motion - Investing In Community Speaker: City of Heath Mayor Jeremiah McClure Hello, Heath! The Heath Economic Development and Municipal Benefits Corporations have a long history of supporting quality-of-life initiatives in Heath, including our parks, trails and beautification projects that advance our vision of Heath as a premier outdoor lifestyle community. The recently adopted HEDC/HMBC FY 2026-2027 budget continues that commitment. You’ll be receiving more details about these initiatives, but here’s a quick look at what’s included: Support for Parks And Trails of Heath, or PATH, including a matching donor campaign to help advance trail development. Funding for soccer goals at the HEDC-owned property at 217 Laurence, giving our families and young athletes more opportunities to practice and play locally. New permanent and seasonal Christmas lighting at Towne Center Park, the Paw Grounds dog recreation area, and other City and HEDC/HMBC amenities. Seed funding to help the Park Board host a spectacular PATH fundraising gala. A campaign encouraging residents to keep their sales tax dollars working in our community. And continued maintenance and development of the nature trails throughout The Reserve and the HEDC-owned properties that connect to the overall paved trail system. The budget also includes funding for the City’s first full-time Economic Development Director, who will focus on attracting high-quality, distinctive businesses, dining and shopping that serve our residents and expand our sales tax base. We are grateful to President Mike Zilinskas and the HEDC and HMBC Board for their continued leadership and hard work to help make Heath a premier outdoor lifestyle community as illustrated by branding initiated in 2024. This is a visual of who we are, and a reminder that every action, every decision should advance our vision for our community. Thank you for taking the time to stay informed about your hometown, and God Bless Heath.
