TERRY TRAIL UPDATE TRANSCRIPT SPEAKER: CITY OF HEATH MAYOR JEREMIAH McCLURE I'm excited to share another update on our commitment to improving pedestrian connectivity throughout the community. The rehabilitation of Terry Lane was completed in May and the adjacent hike and bike sidewalk, it's not far behind the Terry Lane roadway. Improvements were funded through $2 million from our Rockwall County Commissioners Court. Recently, the County Commissioners Court, including Heath residents, County Judge Frank New and Commissioner Lauren Liechty, voted to dedicate the remaining project funds to help the City complete the adjacent trail sidewalk, providing safe pedestrian and bicycle access on our Terry Lane. Surveying and preliminary layouts are complete and design is now underway. The new sidewalk will be built to the City of Heath's hike and bike trail standards, at least ten feet wide. Minimum expectation. This is going to help you if you want to stroll, bike, run, or you have a stroller. We are a premier outdoor lifestyle community and we want to remain that way. And this project is yet again another important step to showcase that we have safe trail connections all the way to our parks and our waterways. We sincerely thank the Rockwall County Commissioners Court for helping us get this accomplished. We want to also thank you. Thank you for allowing me to be your Mayor and help get these trails connected. Thank you and God bless. We'll see you next time.
