Notice of Public Hearing on the Proposed Property Tax Rate for Fiscal Year 2015

A tax rate of $0.4266 per $100 valuation has been proposed for adoption by the governing body of the City of Heath, Texas.  This rate exceeds the lower of the effective or roll back tax rate, and state law requires that two public hearing be held by the governing body before adopting the proposed tax rate.

The effective tax rate is the total tax rate needed to raise the same amount of property tax revenue for the City of Heath, Texas from the same properties in both the 2013 tax year and the 2014 tax year.

The rollback tax rate is the highest tax rate that the City of Heath, Texas may adopt before voters are entitled to petition for an election to limit the rate that may be approved to the rollback rate.

Second Hearing:  September 9, 2014 6:30 p.m.  at City Hall, 200 Laurence Dr., Heath, Texas  75032

The City of Heath will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 concerning its 2015 Fiscal Budget for the period of October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2015. The Public Hearing will be held at a meeting of the City Council at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 200 Laurence Dr., Heath, Texas.

A copy of the proposed 2015 Fiscal Budget has been filed with the City Secretary’s Office, Heath City Hall, 200 Laurence Dr., Heath, Texas and may be reviewed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A copy of the proposed budget may also be viewed here (PDF 2.5mb).
