TOWNE CENTER PARK, HEATH, TX GRAND OPENING

HEATH CELEBRATES AMERICA’S 250TH ANNIVERSARY
It’s an extra special red, white and blue year as the City of Heath celebrates the 250th Independence Day with the Annual July 4 Parade followed by the Towne Center Park Grand Opening Festivities on Saturday, July 4 beginning at 9 a.m.
THE JULY 4TH PARADE
Staging for the parade is at 8 a.m. at Amy Parks-Heath Elementary School at 330 Laurence Drive. Judging begins at 8:30 a.m., and the parade begins at 9 a.m.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PARADE
Registration closes at 5pm June 29, 2026. See form below.
THE TOWNE CENTER PARK GRAND OPENING:
Head to the park immediately after the parade to continue the celebration with a live band and food trucks serving popcorn, snow cones, lemonade, Easy Slider’s burgers and hot dogs. The City will have the traditional free popsicles and cold water for all.
There will also be activities including the first-ever Junior Home Run Derby at 10:30 a.m. (more details to come), and a brief Towne Center Park ribbon cutting ceremony, during which Governor Greg Abbott’s Texas Music Office will present the City of Heath with the Music Friendly Texas Certification designation.
This will be a great day that will go down in Heath history…come be a part of it!
CALLING ALL HEATH VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
All Heath Veterans and active military are invited to be recognized during the short ceremony and then ride or walk with the Veterans’ Float in the parade immediately afterwards. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Suzanne Brooke at sbrooke@heathtx.com. Please encourage the veterans and military members in your life to come be honored during this patriotic tradition.
VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY MEET AT THE HEATH DPS FIRE BAY AT 200 LAURENCE TO RIDE THE VETERANS FLOAT AT 8 A.M.
The intersection of Laurence Drive and FM 740/FM 1140 will be closed during the parade on July 4 from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. To avoid inconvenience or delays, please plan an alternate route or time frame for driving through the area.
Lightening can cause delays of up to one hour. If lightening does not clear up in 60 minutes, the parade may be canceled due to law enforcement/traffic impacts. Please signup for alerts by texting “75032” to 888777. Also watch the City’s Facebook, X and Instagram accounts for event information.
VOLUNTEER FOR EVENT
We’d love to hear from you. Please use our volunteer form in the link below to contact us.
WEATHER CONTINGENCY
Weather updates for City events will be posted regularly on our social media channels. Please check these channels in the event of inclement weather. Because many students and children participate in this event, the City will follow the Rockwall ISD’s delay protocol for lightening strikes and severe weather. The parade may be delayed up to 10 a.m. only, due to traffic concerns.

Veterans Float
The City of Heath invites veterans and active members of the U.S. Military to ride in the parade on the Veterans Float.
The float will be parked in the fire bay at City Hall, 200 Laurence. Please arrive by 8:00 a.m. and enjoy coffee, donuts and camaraderie with fellow veterans.
The Veterans Float will be part of the Opening Ceremony at 9 a.m. and to join the rest of the parade entries.
The City thanks John Holmsley and Bob Quimby for providing the trailer for the Veterans Float year after year. We also thank the National Charity League mother/daughter teams for decorating the float so beautifully.
SPECIAL EVENT SERIES
Parade entry is free, but registration by June 29 is required.
Order by June 22 to Pick Up in Time to Wear to the Parade!
