ORDINANCE PROJECT – City of Heath, TX

The City of Heath is undertaking a comprehensive rewrite of its Zoning & Subdivision Ordinances to update and modernize the City’s development regulations and ensure they reflect the community’s vision for the future.

The project will help align the City’s ordinances with Heath’s identity as a Premier Outdoor Lifestyle Community, the goals and vision established in the 2025 Comprehensive Plan, and new and updated State regulations. The rewrite will also provide an opportunity to review existing regulations, identify opportunities for improvement, and support responsible growth and development throughout the community.

COMMUNITY & STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

Community input is an important part of the ordinance rewrite process. The City will engage residents, property owners, developers, business owners, HOA and neighborhood representatives, and other stakeholders to gather feedback about the existing ordinances and opportunities for improvement.

Stakeholder listening sessions will provide an opportunity to:

Learn more about the ordinance rewrite project and its goals;

Share experiences and perspectives regarding the existing regulations;

Identify challenges, gaps, or opportunities for improvement; and

Provide ideas and feedback that can help inform recommended updates.

The listening session is open to the public, with a particular focus on hearing from HOA and neighborhood representatives.
