TRASH COLLECTION SERVICES

Trash collection services for the City of Heath are provided by Waste Connections. All City of Heath customers receive a 94-gallon rolling poly cart for trash collection, and a 95-gallon rolling poly cart for recyclables.

Call the utility office at 972-771-6228 option 2 if your trash cart is missing or you need a replacement. Also call the utility office if your trash/recycling was skipped for pickup on your regular trash service day.

Holiday Collection Schedule

The only holidays that may affect the collection for City of Heath customers if they fall upon collection days are:

Trash and recycling will be picked up on the normal schedule on all other holidays including Martin Luther King Day; President’s Day; Memorial Day; Juneteenth; Independence Day; Labor Day; Columbus Day; and Veterans Day.

BULK WASTE & BRUSH PICKUP

Bulk Waste Pick Up

Bulk items such as furniture will be picked up free of charge on your trash collection day. Place curbside by 7 a.m. See list below of accepted items.

Brush Pick Up

City of Heath utility customers may have up to three cubic yards of brush hauled away free of charge. Anything over three cubic yards is billed at $12.58 per yard. Collection is twice monthly on the first and third Monday of the month. Brush should be placed curbside by 7 a.m. on Monday of the collection week. If your brush pick up was skipped and it was placed out in time, call the utility office at 972-771-6228 option 2.

ITEMS ACCEPTED:

Brush – bundled in no more than 4′ in length per bundle or less than 50 lbs
Furniture – couch, chair, mattress, box springs, etc.
Appliances (Freon must be removed & certified)
Swing Sets – disassembled
Debris from minor home improvement projects (no more than 1 cubic yard total on collection day)
Cardboard Boxes – broken down

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED:

Roofing materials
Debris from construction, demolition or remodeling by a contractor
Dirt, rocks or concrete
Hazardous materials – herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals, etc.
Tires, batteries and automobile parts
Liquids – paints, motor oil, solvents
Electronics
Wooden pallets

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION

PROVIDED BY HHW SOLUTIONS

Weekly “front porch pickup” of household hazardous wastes items is available to utility customers through HHW Solutions.

Items collected include paint, motor oil, batteries, insecticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals and other household materials. These items are not accepted by regular trash collection services.

Customers can also set out up to 50 pounds of electronic items to be recycled. You do not have to be home to have items collected.

The Service Provider will collect Household Hazardous Waste from Single-Family Residential Units once per week. Items will be collected from the front porch of the home or an area immediately adjacent to the home, i.e.: breezeway, garage door, and driveway.

HOURS OF SERVICE

Collection will occur after 7:00 A.M. on Wednesday of each week throughout the year, unless service is affected by a Holiday, then the service provider will designate an alternate day of that week.

Place items to be collected on your front porch. If you have a gated property, please place your items at the curb.

This service is available only to City of Heath residential utility/trash customers. Please bring a copy of a utility bill or your driver’s license for proof of eligibility. Bring your paper documents in any box or container that is convenient. The shredded paper will be recycled.
