ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

New Dining and Entertainment Venue on Track for Soft Opening in December

The highly-anticipated soft opening of the new dining and entertainment venue located at the northwest corner of FM 740 and FM 1140 is on track for year-end 2018, according to the developers.

“We are planning for a soft opening of the restaurant in December, and a grand opening party in March 2019,” said Deric Salser of Salser Development Group, LLC. “All of the underground utility work and foundation are complete, and the project has gone vertical.”

The dining and entertainment venue will be centered upon a full-service signature restaurant concept. There will be an outdoor gathering space to be used for live music, covered dining and special events. Features will include fire pits, outdoor games, and other family/community activity areas.

The Heath City Council approved an Economic Development Assistance Agreement at its December 13, 2016, meeting for the project. The Council’s action followed approval of an agreement by the Heath Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) and Heath Municipal Benefits Corporation (HMBC) Board on December 7, 2016.

“We are very excited to welcome this amenity to our community,” said David Lane, president of the Heath EDC/MBC.  “This is a unique and distinctive project that fits our vision for high quality commercial development.”

Tom Thumb: Full Steam Ahead!

Grading on the site for the new Tom Thumb grocery store to be located at Laurence Road/FM 740 and FM 549 is underway. The Malouff Group, the developers representing Tom Thumb, anticipate the full-service grocer to be open by the third quarter of 2019. The Malouff Group is also working to identify ideal tenants for the additional retail space within the development.
