Public Works Facility: Officially Named Heath Services Building

Public Works and Parks & Recreation staff have officially moved into the new Heath Services Center.

This state-of-the-art facility is located on City-owned property at 1284 FM 740, the same site where the new Department of Public Safety Station #30 is under construction.

For more than 20 years, some of the City’s most important investments, including equipment, vehicles and staff, were housed in an aging structure on this site. The building had deteriorated to the point that our staff needed to move into a temporary facility while the new Services Center was being built.

The old facility also housed our SCADA system, the technology that serves as the brain of Heath’s water system.

Today, this critical infrastructure is safely housed in the modern, secure Heath Services Building, which  also provides much-needed improvements in office space, storage and training areas for our staff.

Just as importantly, employees now have the accommodations needed when responding to emergencies and around-the-clock incidents, including severe weather.
