2025 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
The 2025 Heath Comprehensive Plan is an update to the City’s 2018 Plan. Adoption of the 2025 Comprehensive Plan marked the end of a two-and-a-half year planning process that included extensive issue identification through community and stakeholder input as well as the formulation of recommendations and actions. The Comprehensive Plan provides instruction on implementing the objectives and actions outlined in the document and, when used in conjunction with other documents such as the Transportation Plan and the Heath Code of Ordinances, is a useful tool for guiding the growth of Heath in accordance with the wishes of residents.

ZONING/SUBDIV. REGULATIONS
The Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations comprise the majority of the City’s land use code. Other components of land use regulation include: the Sign Code, Flood Protection, Fence Ordinance, Tree Preservation, and Parkland Dedication and Development.

FIRE CODE
The City of Heath has adopted the 2021 International Fire Code and amendments.
FIRE DEPT. CONNECTION (FDC) SIGNS
Fire Department Connections (FDC) are devices on the outside of a building. All FDC’s within the city limits are required to have specific signage affixed to them. Property owners can purchase these signs through a safety sign company. The City does not provide them.
ABOVE GROUND STORAGE TANKS
All permanent and temporary above ground storage tanks within the city limits are regulated. A permit (at no cost) is REQUIRED. To obtain an Above Ground Storage Tank Permit form, please visit our Construction and Zoning Documentation page and look under the Planning and Development Documentation section.
