CITY OF HEATH SPECIAL EVENTS BOARD

2021 HEATH INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE

SATURDAY, JULY 3, 2021

A beloved tradition returns for 2021 as the City of Heath and Special Events Board present the Annual Independence Day Parade on Saturday, July 3. Plan now to join the festivities that include a patriotic program in Towne Center Park immediately following the parade. There will be music, parade awards for the “best of the best” and free pie and popsicles!

Parade Entry Categories

  • Floats
  • Bicycles
  • Wagon & Strollers
  • Golf Carts and Off-Road Vehicles
  • Antique Cars
  • Patriotic Pets

Please let us know if you are entering the parade!

Veterans Float

The City of Heath invites veterans and active members of the U.S. Military to ride in the parade on the Veterans Float. The float will be parked in the fire bay at City Hall, 200 Laurence. Please arrive by 8:15 a.m. and enjoy coffee, donuts and camaraderie with fellow veterans. The City thanks John Holmsley and Bob Quimby for providing the trailer for the Veterans Float year after year. We also thank the National Charity League mother/daughter teams for decorating the float so beautifully.

Traffic Delays

The intersection of Laurence Drive and FM 740/FM 1140 will be closed during the parade on July 3 from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. To avoid inconvenience or delays, please plan an alternate route or time frame for driving through the area.

Weather Alerts

Stay tuned to the City’s Facebook page or go to heathtx.com for weather alerts. Because many students and children participate in this event, the City will follow the Rockwall ISD’s delay protocol for lightening strikes and severe weather. The parade may be delayed up to 10 a.m. only, due to traffic concerns.

Heath Spirit Swag

Order your 2021 Heath patriotic t-shirt now. Spirit visors and hats are also available. Order by June 13 to pick up your purchases at All Sports in time to wear on July 3. Heath spirit wear pre-orders are now closed.
